After around 9 years of happy motoring, a gradual accumulation of things to do on the C6 has led me to decide it's time to move on. The final push being that the brake servo has developed a leak. The car has done, coming up to 170k miles.

The to-do list, so far as I am aware --

Brake Servo. Only noticeable at first start after vacuum has leaked away. Still brakes quite normally, but is clearly a safety issue that need doing. Cam Belt due again. Did it when I had it, but we're 9 years and around 80k miles further on. Fault code reading for suspension rear pressure sensor, although nothing evident in the ride.

The car is down on performance, although I am wondering if this is related to a low vacuum in the extensive vac pipe system, due to the servo issue. Drives Ok, but like it has no, or very little turbo.

Occasional water ingress to boot, through spoiler assembly (which works fine).

Fault code readings for glow plug operation and one or two other odds and sods.

If you are really keen, there is one glow plug that is broken and neither in nor out of the engine (just off the thread, but won't withdraw) I had hoped it might literally blow out, but it hasn't in the last 20 or 30k miles, so I guess it's not going to. No apparent impact on running or starting.

If you are keen (or it's against your principles) the EGR operation was programmed out when I had the car and, I think, a blanking plate also fitted. Consequently, have never had any EGR issues, although it does show up on a code reading. Bonnet secondary release is somewhat iffy. Tyre monitoring doesn't work and as I think they are dangerous (in that the valve stem tube can just blow out), I have had the senders taken out of the last two wheels I had tyres on.

Mystery 'clunk' in driver's door which I have never investigated.

On the plus side, it has had regular oil changes (and doesn't use any, so far as I am aware). I have also always drained what will come out of the gearbox at the same time as oil changes, to try and give it a rolling replenishment of fluid. Within the last two or three years -- New starter motor; fuel pump belt replaced at same time.

Suspension pump motor replaced (cleaned, good used). Accessible external fuse fitted for pump motor (just in case !) Manifold vac motors replaced; oil separator valley seal bushes replaced; thermostat housing replaced (9yrs); Recent front ABS sensors; all spheres except the rear wheel ones (abt. 6yrs); both front suspension legs, new, genuine Citroën (2 -3 yrs); Instrument display repaired by the guy in Somerset, who assured me it will never break again; recent new windscreen; all front suspension joints etc. as and when required; Oil pump replaced when I did the cam belt;

No problems with the DPF and the correct fluid replenished about two years ago. All-wheel bearings at roundabout 100k.

There's probably more that I have forgotten -- but I think it's a fair appraisal of most of the pros and cons. One big bonus is that because it was imported back here from the Isle of Man, the tax rate is the standard band, even though it's a 56 plate.

The car is in Birmingham. Dark metallic grey / cream interior / lounge pack etc.

Drop me a mail if you are interested.

Mike.
