Posted by Frode Hi all,I recently had my AC condenser changed (1800+ Euros!) on my 2007 2.7 and was happy with the cooling in this year's very warm summer (up to 33 degrees Celsius is not something that you encounter often in Norway). However, I noticed last week that after a few hours in 80-110kph, there was gradually less air, up to a complete stop. A new condenser does not do much good, then. The fan tried its hardest, but there was nothing coming through, no matter what I asked the panel to do. The next day, everything was fine, but only for a while, and the same happened the day before last.I suspect either the flap itself is damaged (ouch) or the plastic connection to the stepper motor is at fault. I hope for the latter - and that the stepper motor is situated behind the glove box (LHD) (?). Happily, in line with the possible diagnosis, there was then a temporary fix, making the last 800km run in 30-33 degrees nice and cool: Immediately upon startup set the flap position to one fixed position (not auto, that would constantly change the flap position) and interior recycling on (to prevent that outside wind pressure could affect the flap). This provided more than enough cooling (even at low fan settings) for the entire trip.Anyone had any experience with this type of problem? I have earlier changed the heater flap on the passenger side the "easy" way, and hope there is a solution that does not involve taking out the dashboard also in this case. If it is only the connection to the stepper motor, I guess there may be something sticky I can put in between or change the motor itself. If the whole thing needs to come out, I think it is not worth it - the lack of fan/flap auto is not a huge problem. Unless the flap issue becomes worse, of course.Best,Frode 24 July 2025
