Only one of my door cards lights up -- and it's barely noticeable. Therefore I think that I need to change the bulbs. How do I get the door cards off? I can get the torx head bolts out but then it's still stuck fast. Don't want to just violence it off because that always ends with broken plastic clips/tabs. What is the consensus on what replacement bulbs to use? - Click Here - Do I need resistors for something? Why? What do you do with them? |

Have you removed the T20 screw at the rear end of the door card just below the lock? You also need to remove the tweeter and it's housing at the front as the card lifts up to remove once you have released the clips by pulling it from the bottom. The clips are a good design and unlikely to break when using appropriate force to pull the card from the door. I recommend using a trim removal tool to help the process but be careful not the scratch the paint. Oh and you need to remove the ashtray (where fitted) as there's a hidden T20 in the bottom. You also need to remove the switch panel to disconnect the cable(s) and the puddle light at the bottom just levers out. I think you might need to remove a cover on the lock leaver but don't quote me on that one! Can't help on how to make the lights better as my cards are black and therefore the lights are redundant! |

Bolts, ashtray, speaker, puddle light all come out no problem. Do you then just pull really hard? |

Pulled as hard as I dare but it's not for shifting. More violence? What clips are they? I have some 6991.Y8. |

Are you 100% sure that ALL the screws are out around the edges, down in the centre pull at '3' you only need the screw 'd' removed, the switch unit should come out on the card. Ignore 4, 5 & 6 as they don't affect the door card removal |

tweeter and housing off at the top front. T20 screw on the lock end about 150-200mm down from the top door lock trim switch panel Then leaver a clip loose at the bottom rear corner and follow around to other clips. Once all the clips are loose, lift up and withdraw from the door. when withdrawing disconnect the ambient light. |

If they are lined up correctly all you'll need is to give the door card a bash with the side of your fist to get it back in. Once it's been off a couple of time it gets easier |

Ah, just realised from the pic you're doing the rear door! No T20 on those and no tweeter in the top corner. BTW the lights don't show well on a black interior. Before you rip the door card off stick your hand under the light to make sure it's not working. Also, it's a LED projected along a clear plastic rod. These are very unlikely to fail but I guess not impossible. |

Under street lights they don't show a lot. There was a thread on this many years back IIRC |

Definitely only the driver's door is working. MOT day today -- setting off to Welwyn Garden City at 5. Dreading it. Since booking the washer pump has failed and the passenger door glass isn't dropping. If I get home today then I might feel optimistic about having another look at the weekend... So: just put harder?! (That feels very wrong.) |
