Hello All. I would appreciate any useful replies pls. My 3ltr petrol has 4 year old IFHS spheres that have done +20k miles. And I’m quite sure the spheres are the final piece of the suspension refurb puzzle and return the smoothness. Is it a valid option to recharge the existing IFHS spheres with a trip to Pleides? Another idea, as I do prefer OEM, would be to buy used OEM Citroën spheres, and send them off for testing and recharge. Then I’ll have a swing set ready when I do get the existing spheres pressure tested. But do I need to be concerned about the part numbers? All Hydropneumatic3 C5 and C6 spheres are effectively the same unit if i understand correctly - apart from different pressures? Is that correct.? My research so far if it helps anyone 50bar - front & rear corner sphere x4 - Citroën c6 part - 527610 70bar - front regulator sphere x1 - Citroën c6 part - 527627 40bar - rear regulator sphere x2 - Citroën c6 part - 527281 Thanks for all the useful posts. Invaluable BR Dave |

C5 ones will not fit to 2.7/3.0 because AMVAR on the C6 (=large sphere oil hole) if I'm got it right. C5 are all without AMVAR.

Off the top of my head so double check on IFHS Sphere Shop: Rear corners are 40 bar. Rear stiffness spheres are also 40 bar. |

Hi, just checked on Sphere Shop.Yes, rear corners are 40 bar. Personally I would never fit spheres from a 2nd car or unknown source because of risk of contaimination.

Are ALL C6 spheres the same with the exception of the PRESSURES ? Do C6 spheres have no valves ? |

Hi, AMVAR shouldn't change the sphere type - it is type of hydractive (3 or 3+) what maybe makes the difference in spheres type (but I'm not sure now). IF you check the spheres part numbers mentioned before - they also fits C5's. @citroenroen1 - As I know yes, they only have different pressures with no changes in structure, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Actually, there is some valve inside sphere's port, but should be the same in all of them. |

citroenroen1 wrote ... Are ALL C6 spheres the same with the exception of the PRESSURES ? Do C6 spheres have no valves ? All V6 engined C6 have the AMVAR system fitted, the variable damping unit is part of the suspension struts, there’s no damper valve fitted in the neck of the sphere. So, all 7 spheres are the same, apart from the gas pressures. The four cylinder engined C6 has fixed damper valves fitted to each suspension sphere. |
