Hi all, I have searched for some pictures of our C6 a few weeks ago and found something interesting. There are pictures on the internet from a japanese hotrod show in 2011. And there also was a Citroen C6, 'Ken's C6'. He did a very interesting body modification to his car which reminds a little bit on the good old Citroen DS days. This C6 has some kind of rear wheel guards. I think it looks amazing. I definitely plan to do the same. But sadly I think these parts can not be ordered anywhere. So I have to do it by mayself. What do you think about this modification? Regards, Alex |

I've seen this before and love it too - but I hate the idea of retrofit kit. I guess I am saying that I'd rather Citroen had gone for spats in the first place.

Oooo I like that.... When I retire a might have a go at engineering these in fibreglass. If there's enough interest I might retire early |

The last Picture shows how this is really an improvement that links even more to DS, SM and CX

Are those alloys or wheel trims? (I suspect the later). Anyway, looks straight out of the CX mold. regards |

I think those subtle additions make it look quite sleek and I do like it. As G said, the wheels similar to CX turbo 2 Having said that, from a practical point of view, it can't be good for brake cooling (but then it wouldn't pump brake pad dust on the wheel and the wheel shape is smooth so cleaning would be a breeze) and I'd imagine you'd have to remove the spats to check the rear tyre pressure (or roll the car forward and backwards). If it had spats on the front as well (typical of '30s Figoni et Falaschi), I'd be right into that. I spy the Mooneyes logo in the background, maybe they still have some info or commission them to do the work.

At a first glance, I think it looked "historically nice" but then really not at all. I love my old DS as a unique design and truly believe that the C6 should be kept as designed some 50 years later. Honestly, I think the C6 looks too heavy with the Japanese modification. Let's keep our cars in their original shape !!!

On a slightly similar note, the famous US car collector Peter Mullen is curating a Citroen exhibition in Oxnard, California at the moment and guess what he included In the exhibition? A 2007 C6. There's an article in the latest edition of Octane car magazine if anyone wants to read the full article. |
