I think it's an advisory. Red dashboard warning lights will cause an MOT failure, but not the Orange/yellow ones. However, I'm open to someone with definite knowledge confirming. I don't tolerate illuminated warning lights on my cars! They get proper maintenance, scheduled and preventative, or fixed promptly should anything fail. |

They're purely an MoT testing facility, just a hundred metres from our local VOSA depot... |

And said nothing about it. But i did flag it up at all times with everybody in the center before the test. I think he was particularly impressed with my lovely new wipers and new rear tyres. Installed fresh that morning!! |

A car I know recently passed the MOT with an advisory note "EML indicating a fault". Jaguar, registration X586UOE. Maybe it's discretionary and upto the MOT tester. Any UK car's MOT history can be checked here; - Click Here - ![]() |

The Advertising Standards Authority has ruled that garages must clearly state the legal implications of DPF-removal services for drivers after it banned a Bristol-based garage advert for misleading consumers. Remapping !!!!!!!!!!!!!ETC |

e3steve wrote ... So blanking and deletion seems the way to go? I'm not entirely convinced on this one, because it makes the car not the same car it was produced as. However, I'm listening... Aside: I keep my EGRs as clear as I can by only using Shell V-Power Nitro+ or BP Ultimate Diesel and by regularly (every 2-3k miles) squirting Wynns EGR cleaner into the induction duct. Premium diesel pays dividends; I've proved that to myself! Hope you see this from such an old post but my front EGR is blocked and I wondered if an EGR cleaner would fix it. When you say that you sprayed it into the "induction duct" where exactly is this? Also, is it done with the engine running or not? Hot or cold? Thanks. |

Hello Candide, You will need the engine running. You can disconnect the pipe from the air filter box to the front turbo and spray it in there. The instructions with the cleaner will explain how to apply. Best regards, Phil C. |
