A quick update to my previous post. Front suspension arms were replaced today (under warranty) - and the drive is 100% improved. Nice and solid, with no "knocking" when I engage throttle/brake. Huge improvement. Drives more like I was expecting, and feels like a new car. Also noticing less bumpy ride at lower speed over poor road surface. Again, raises question why not picked-up on Citroen Select used car check. (I've owned the car less than 2 months). Battery - ended up getting the garage to replace with a Citroen full spec. £155+vat including fitting. Having read the other posts and complexity of fitting - thought I'd pay a few bob extra, and at least have Citroen on the hook for ensuring the car's electrics all running well post-fitting. (I am risk averse!) Photo of the new battery (showing the spec) below. Been using Basingstoke City Citroen (didn't buy the car from them) - Service has been really excellent. Pick-ups/ drop-offs/ great comms/ and anxious to please. Final fix will be the windscreen seal - (Where again the Citroen Basingstoke are taking care of me). Happier C6 Punter tonight! |

Hi, glad to hear your knocking problems are resolved. It's a torture when driving around knowing full well there's something knocking and needing to be put right! Are the batteries not under fixed price servicing for £99, though? Nicky |

Basingstoke have improved then they were shocking when I first used them. IMHO citroen select is useless. My car spent 6 weeks of the first 6 months i owned it having things fixed that should have been spotted . | ||

Thanks for the 'customer experience'. I'm about 15 miles south of Basingstoke. My closest dealer is LMC, south of Farnham, who looked after my old C5. I have now found a specialist, Peter Boxall at Citroen Care in Rake, who is closer and REALLY knows his stuff. It's always nice to have alternative options, though. |

Nicky - not aware of the Battery being covered under servicing - but the fitting only cost £25. Mark - On your comments on the Citroen Select side - Have to agree. They'd assured me engineers had been over the car with a fine-tooth comb looking for issues - but they clearly didn't/didn't want to pick up on the front suspension issue, which I noticed from the day I got it. Think Citroen UK need to take a look at this - as harms their rep. I'm guessing the selling dealer has to pick up the costs - so prefer punters to then rely on the warranty thereafter. Citroen is not a "premier" brand, so I guess has less brand value to protect. (I also own a BMW - and can see the difference in approach). Bruce - I'll be using the dealer through warranty, but looking for good independent care thereafter. Peter Boxall sounds good? |
