Hi all, I'm about to place an order with a UK supplier for I.F.H.S front spheres:
their part number C650FH. Cost is £41.95 plus VAT plus a small amount for delivery. FOR 6 CYLINDER CARS ONLY

The leadtime is 6-8 weeks so no point buying these when you need them in a hurry. With this leadtime I expect them to be factory fresh (not 4 years old as some of us have noticed with other suppliers).

Currently the UK stockist does not stock anything for the C6 because there is no demand - but that is a chicken and egg situation.

Note that Citroen spheres are about 3 times this cost and I have had poor experience with other manufacturer's products.

Anyone want to add to the order?

Regards
G

I bought two front suspension strut spheres from Suplex(01909 770 660) last year. They are a German maufacturer and had them delivered next day, as then they held stock.
Price was £36.06 each and are still holding up OK

Ok, thank you. I had the front spheres checked today and they were still ok. So no need for me this time. Thanks anyway.

Hi all, Suplex front stiffness sphere lasted less than a year.

So I won't be fitting any more Suplex!

Did they just lose pressure over time or did the membrane have a catastrophic failure? My original sphere failure was total, even though there was no springing effect from the nitrogen which has completly gone, Neither of the two Citroen main dealers diagnosed the problem, told me this is how the C6 rides, had to go to B&H to get it sorted

Hi Roger, Suplex stiffness sphere lost pressure so ride became crashy on bumps. The OEM spheres have spikes that puncture the diaphragm: not sure if any of the aftermarket spheres are the same.

Hi Roger, I think you are referring to B.L.Autos (Barry Lowdell) in Welwyn Garden City when you say B&H.
I've been a customer of theirs for many years and they mentioned a C6 with the same symptoms as yours.
I gave them my sphere pressure checking equipment ( a genuine Citroen workshop tool from the good old days of LHM and green spheres) to use, so if you wish they could check the pressures on your other spheres.
Bizarrely, Citroen Hatfield recently borrowed this tool from B.L.Autos, so they could check & subsequently replace the spheres on a C5 under warranty. It makes me chuckle that the main dealer is borrowing equipment form an independent Citroen specialist!

Hi all, my order has been placed with AEP Direct tel 01416470800.

At present, they do not list the C6 IFHS spheres on their website so you will need to telephone the order through.

I required that the spheres I am ordering are less than 6 months old: ordered in April, they were made in Feb 2013 so should be good.
For reference, the IFHS part numbers for 6 Cylinder C6s (2.7 Diesel, 3.0 petrol and 3litre diesel) are:-

Rear spheres C640RP (suspension and stiffness regulator)
Front suspension C650FH
Front Stiffness Regulator C670FR

Regards
G

Note how the IFHS part numbers reference the car and the pressure
