Hi, the air-con on my C6 Exclusive (2007 2.2HDI) has now stopped cooling. The outside temperature sensor is reading correctly, the fuses are OK, and the air-con is enabled in the menu. Warm air is fine, but now summer is here its getting a bit warm. Anybody have any ideas? Sensors, if so where are they? I would expect the refrigerant to be OK, it has been regularly serviced, now just over 30,000 Kms (not miles!). Thanks, Les |

Welcome from sunny Spain The Air Con system isn't part of routine servicing I'm afraid and the refrigerant should be 're gassed' every 2 years so that's the first thing to have checked as a lot of people overlook it. If it's low then the motor won't run as the refrigerant also contains a lubricant. |

Dave, many thanks for the prompt reply. I will take it in tomorrow and see what the garage thinks. What should be the approx cost for a re-gas (in the UK)? Labour rates are a lot cheaper here I think.

My local Citroen Dealer charges £30.00 - the Peugeot dealer near me wanted £99.99! It really does vary I'm afraid. You may be better off going to a specialist Auto Air Conditioning company and getting a quote there |

Fixed now, re-gassing and lubricant required. There appears to be no diagnostic code logged when the refrigerant is lost, a bit surprising from Citroen considering the nagging they give about rear seat belts! Thanks for the info. Les Hart |

Don't think there is a sensor anywhere to look at refrigerant level/pressure A lot of other 'faults' aren't actually logged either so if any do appear intermittently, grab a picture with a mobile or camera to prove to the dealer hat the error actually appeared. If it stops cooling again then there may be a pinprick hole in the pipework or matrix (a few have failed this way on the C4) |

The AC will not work at -3, that's quite normal.

Hi All I can see this is an old thread, but the title is relevant to my problem so I thought best to post it here. My 2008 2.7 was blowing warm air so rather than pay the £99 pound at the dealer I took it to Halfords for £49.99. They reported that it was indeed low on gas, so the topped it and it was icy cold - for about 2 weeks. Now it is blowing warm air again. If the gas is low again (I'm going back to Halfords tomorrow) does that indicate a serious (££££) problem...? Cheers! Phil |

Hello Phil, Does indeed suggest a leak. The condensers are known to fail. There are posts on this in the forum back a bit if I remember correctly. Best regards, Phil C. |
