I must admit, I'm curious who bought it, Is it going to a new or existing member on here?

Highest mileage on autoscout24.de right now is this 2,7 V6 HDI in Rouge Profond with 273989km - Click Here - which is sold new in the Netherlands. I'm thinking about buying a 2,2 HDI Manual in the lower price range and is very interested in knowing what goes/can go wrong when a C6 has a mileage of 150tkm or over. Regards Stephan |

273,989 km = 170,256 miles. I'm not sure anyone on site has a car with that kind of mileage yet?

I have 200,500 Km on the odometer. That's ~124,500 miles. So, I guess that makes me the highest mileage member (so far)... :D Cheerios, Sam |

Lol - not me that's for sure, my C6 has spent most of its life being repaired and going nowhere fast so 50,000 on my 2007 plate. God help me if I ever manage to drive it a distance, god only knows what will break!! |

use it or lose it is often a good adage - so low mileage not a good thing ! when we inherited my wife's mother's 1100cc Peugeot 205, it was seven years old with 7000 miles on the clock ... heat gasket soon went, and timing chain not so long after ... 'twas good after that, and we used it a lot ... ventilation system was falling apart when we let it go at sixteen years ! |

Its a bit disconcerting that this engine should blow at only 111,000 miles?

Rich wrote ... Its a bit disconcerting that this engine should blow at only 111,000 miles? ANY engine can fail at any time for a multitude of reasons. In this instance we don't know the full history, driving style, service history, oil used etc. etc. |

Today, I've seen a 2.7 Hdi engine with it's crankshaft in two pieces, having snapped in half after 80,000 miles. OK, the engine had been in a Jaguar, but it is basically the same engine as in a C6. Crankshaft looks a bit flimsy given the torque it's expected to handle (325 lb ft ). |
