Ours has just been serviced at 45000 miles - MoT fine, new pads all round (about 3000 miles before critical), special wheel-nut adapter had fallen apart when tyres replaced a week or three back, so replaced all four specials with simple studs, plus three new filters, and new oil - nice & quiet again (can always hear when oil needs changing) ... One thought - when's best to think of timing-chain renewal - there's a slight lightweight rattle when drive-off after starting from cold - not sure what from, but valves & timing chain come to mind ... ?? |

I thought it is a belt? It was one of my first questions to the dealer when I first went to test drive a C6, coming as I do from Alfa ownership where you have to change them every 36,000 miles or three years. I seem to remember it is every 100,000 miles. It'll be in your handbook. |

I have updated the servicing FAQ: - Click Here - C6 V6 or 2.2 HDI/3.0 petrol models: Timing belt changes are 10 years/140,000 miles in normal conditions or 10years/112,500 miles in 'arduous' or severe operating conditions On 2.2 petrol models that drops to 95,000 miles in normal conditions or 70,000 in arduous conditions Chris check that there are no loose exhaust heat shields as these are the common cause of 'tinkling' noises |
