Once again the site had gone down and 'hopefully' an issue has been found and addressed.

It does mean that some of the older, non 'core' plugins that haven't actually been used for several years, have been removed, but that won't affect the site's core purpose, supporting those running a Citroën C6.

Now it's once again, a waiting game to see what happens.

This morning (Apr 19th 2024), if you go to the front page (c6owners.org), you get a home page for an Abigail Rieley who is apparently a "Writer and Author" who talks about "Living in a Barbie World"...

I thought the site had been hijacked, but it appears to be just this page. Using the browser history to navigate to e.g. a forum link seems to work fine.

Hmm, I haven't seen that behaviour in MS Edge, Chrome, Brave, Firefox or Safari and I have just looked via all of them.

I can only suggest you clear your browser cache and history.

Mmmm... cache clearing makes no odds. I'm using Brave, but Edge gives the same behaviour.

After some poking around, it seems to be an issue with the https redirect. Prefixing with http gives the correct page, but (again, for the base site address only), specifying https gives another page.

I have hopefully attached an image (sfw) of the phenomenon.

The site does not run https and does not have a certificate (yet).

If I try and use https:// for c6owners in all browsers, I simply get a 'privacy' warning, not another page, so can't replicate what you see I'm afraid.

Brave, I did use but found it very 'quirky' and had limited search results so mainly use Firefox again, but do check the site with multiple browsers.

The site is now running in https:// mode (has been for a few weeks on a new hosting account) and I haven't seen any issues apart from multiple failed logins from spam bots
