Hi I cracked my windscreen almost 6 months ago and the dealer is still waiting for the windscreen, they claimed that Citroen is having problems receiving the windscreen from the supplier. This is sounding a bit ridiculous by now. Has anyone replaced their windscreen lately?

I had a new windscreen mid-april. Autoglass fitted it, but it was definitely sourced directly from Citroen. Apparently cost over £1000?! They got it in a week or two.

I put in the order on 27th May so may be the supply stopped then. I am trying outside suppliers. |

I've just had a new screen fitted. It took 6 months, and was special order only. I had a look around all Citroen dealers in Europe, and there was only one available, in Berlin. Which was left hand drive only...(there is a slight difference on the screen for the head up speed). Jodyone got the last stock item, I believe. I'd just had the car MOT'd, which was OK because otherwise it would have been off the road until it was replaced. (The crack was in the drivers' sight line.) Citroen won't get any more as spares, so when the car is ten years old and Citroen are relieved of their obligation to supply parts, that will be that. Left hand drive ones might still be available? I know Citroen read this, privately, so it might be an idea to say Help! The screen costs just under £1100, by the way.... |

Thanks Drummond. Can you let me know where you go to special order one? If Citroen is obliged to supply parts up to 10 years and RHD C6s stopped production in 2012, then we should be able to get parts for another 8 years, right?

I went to Autoglass, but I'd previously had a word with Citroen direct.I'm afraid that I can't tell you with whom. You should be able to get your insurers to put you in touch with whomever they get to repair glass, and leave it to them. |

I had a new windscreen about 6-weeks ago, in Birmingham, by Autoglass. Waited 1-week, that's all. Screen has Citroen chevrons, so I guess it's the real McCoy.

My first C6 had a LHD screen fitted when I bought it; it was probably replaced by CUK after the original was smashed during filming of an episode of 'Silent Witness'. The only difference was the position of the rain/light sensor pod, which has to be swapped over from the left side to the right. The HUD worked perfectly. Pete. |

Pete, if your previous C6 was one of the early cars in the UK, registered upto April 2006, then they were all fitted with screens with the rain/light sensor pod fitted on the driver's side from the factory. My previous red C6 had this, along with a few other minor differences, like grey carpet instead of black. |

You're absolutely correct; I've just checked out the Clarkson Top Gear video and the test car, which has an adjacent registration number, is the same. Pete. |

Just to say that the Citroen dealers in Bushmills Co Antrim is dismantling a C6 that was in an accident and they are selling parts from it if that's any use to you for a windscreen?

321Dave, Checks out on our two cars so I'd say original! Best regards, Phil C. |
