Hi All

Just fixed the rain leak into my XM, so I was amazed to find a nasty damp patch in the rear left area of my C6's boot - annoying!! I've taken the carpet out to dry it as it was sodden, but it's very difficult to see where rain's coming in. Is this a common one, with hopefully a common fix?

Thanks in advance - Justin

My guess would either be the boot seal or through one of the rear light clusters. Feel round the seal for any corrosion where it clamps to the bodywork of the car that could be causing it to allow water past.

It's a common problem on the Range Rover and I've just had to do mine at a cost of nearly £100 for the seal

Sorry Dave meant to say thanks but forgot - thanks

Steve - it's quite bad so I'm just going into my specialist to get it fixed, it will eventaully rot the boot liner, I've taken it out & am drying it by a rad. I've ordered the official boot liner (was going to anyway) might be here today, I think it will catch most of it.

I'll let you know what happens so you can hopefully sort it.

Got a few other bits as well, might do a quick thread actually, if I can tell the boys what's wrong will save time.

Cheers JJ

JJ, have you ordered the rubber boot liner or the reversible carpet one? Only reason I ask is I was told I couldn't order a rubber one a few weeks ago from two dealers as they are no longer available.
Regards Ryan

Hi Ryan

Well, as far as I know I've order the protective rubber/ plastic one, presumably with scooped edges to hold any spills in; was about £70, usually £117, from a non Cit source, but it's an official Cit item. Is taking a while to come, so hope they're not ordering from the same place, as it sounds like it's not coming

I emailed yesterday to ask where it is, no reply yet; she's going to the garage to fix the leak tomorrow, so the urgency will lessen, although still handy to have if I can get it.

Cheers - Justin

Talk about timing!!!!!! As I was typing to you above, inbox rang, email from Paypal the transaction has been refunded, NO explanation at all, so I guess you were right, as was I, in that they were trying to get it from the same place, which is out!!

So, grab one on EBay if you see one I suppose, although I try to only put [%*^#@!] stuff in my Outback

Indeed, the plastic boot liner is 'no longer available' as a genuine Citroen item.
I bought an after market one from eBay for about £35, which is moulded to the C6 boot shape, it fits reasonable well and came with a bit of carpet to sit inside the plastic tray.

I bought one fro Carmats4U:

It fits ok, but is presumably meant for a car without lounge pack, as it doesn't fit quite right at the front of the boot, and must be folded up a bit. It does its job fine though.

Thanks Jody, I think if I get one, I'll wait for an original Cit one to pop up. Just dropped her off and for some reason I never noticed the deformation in the boot seal & side carpet/ trim , so I think we've found, not sure how easy it will be to fix though!!
