Have wanted a C6 from it's first arrival but up until now have played safe with mainstream cheap to buy & own family cars (mostly Mazda & Ford). A job change means I can now contemplate a C6. Wondered if anybody had any views on ...

Short journeys: I intend to use the C6 to drive to a station car park each morning / evening. Just 2 miles away. I can't imagine this is good for any car - does anybody know if the C6 especially weak or strong in this area? I'd expect to make a 100+ miles journey every 2 weeks or so. [PS. If it does breakdown, I and the 2 schoolkids can walk]

Warranties: A must I think - does anybody have any recommendations of an independant sympathetic to the C6?

Real-life costs: What would I expect to pay annually for upkeep? I'm targeting a 2009+ 2.7 Lignage, black interior ... but I'm not sure I can be too fussy!

Dogs: Can a dog (foxhound cross, 15" high) fit in the boot comfortably? [with boot cover removed]?

Also, any other buying tips!

Short journeys: Not the best for modern big diesel. Quality fuel, cleaning additive, oil changes on 15000km and some long trips may ensure few problems

Dog: Probably no, this is a luxury limo, foldable seats are there, but..... And cover "hatrack" over boot not removable

Costs: Probaly better than other premium cars. Lots of parts same as other Citroens.

Lots of short journeys will also degrade the mpg so expect mid to high 20's, not 30's doing the station run.

As for the dog, you really need to take a look at a car as they are a conventional saloon format with the lounge pack fitted, without then the back seats do fold so it may be possible to put a small dog cage between the 2 children, depending on how big they are though.
