Our C6 (10/2006) was bought from a Citroën dealer near Frankfurt in Germany in june 2010. It had then covered 60100 km in 3 years, owned by a german journalist. He was, according to the dealer, a devoted Citroën enthusiast and a faithful customer. It was just like new. He had taken care of it. Two years and 45 000 kms later: How has «Nicolas» (named after the french president) performed in these two years?

Some general comments first. It generally gives a good quality impression. Seats and interior still like new, outside finish very nice (no rust). Quit ride, good road holding. There are probably less than 10 of these cars in Norway. Citroën Norge only sold 2-3 of them before they gave it up in 2007. As a rare car, it always attracts attention. «What kind of car is this ? I have never seen it before !».

Technicalities: Exchange rate 10 NOK = 1 £
Tyres: 4 new Continental WinterContact 5 225/55-17 in november 2010 (NOK 7 000,-). Very good grip on snow and ice. Will last for next winter too. Probably I will go for Continental again. 2 summer tyres Michelin Primacy 245/45-18 for the front wheels in march 2011 (cost NOK 4 412,-). Shoulders worn now, must be changed next spring. These tyres are fine, but very expensive and do not last long. Will go for another make, I think. Dimension 245/45-18 is not offered by many manufactureres here in Norway.

2010
Service at 69012 km – cost NOK 5 726,-
Parking sensor, outer rear left changed
Left lower ball joint changed
Height regulation of the left front seat serviced (stuck)
Some other adjustments

Service at 69505 km – cost NOK 1 995,-
Brake disc left front side changed

2011
Service at 76960 km – cost NOK 2 416,-
Repaired indicator for worn brake discs front
Xenon lamp left changed (lamp cost NOK 1 336,-!)

Service at 83600 km – cost NOK 1 971,-
Both rear short link arms changed

Scheduled (yearly) service at 89200 km – cost NOK 5 620,-

Service at 93299 km – cost NOK 5 321,-
Repairs on the hydraulic (hose clamps)
Left wheel bearing changed
Computer programs for engine and gearbox updated

2012
Service at 95170 km – cost NOK 1 952,-
Air mass measurement sensor for the engine changed

Service at 99700 km – cost NOK 1 148,-
Height regulation of the left front seat serviced (stuck) – for the second time
Seat has to go out. The motor seems to be the problem.

The garages in Norway charges nearly NOK 1 100,- per man hour. The flow of oil has spoiled us all...

Total service costs are then NOK 26 149,- in two years.

Excluding tyres, the servicing of the car costs appr. NOK 0,58 per km. Diesel fuel is NOK 13,40 per litre in this country. Service costs are then roughly 50 % of the fuel costs (per km).

It is an expensive car to own. But it is forgiveable. I always look forward to taking it for a ride. Hopelessly in love...

Regards,
Ole P., Grimstad, Norway

I hope wages are higher over here to match the costs your paying Ole but the labour rate is probably not much more than you would pay in London at a Franchised Main Dealer.

Thankfully most of us here in the UK pay around 30% less per hour at a main dealer or 60% less at an Independent Citroen specialist.

Thanks for your comments, Dave and Gobxoy. Ingolf (a fellow norwegian member) has corrected my number of C6s on norwegian plates to 43, so I was quite pessimistic with my 10! Dave, how many members from Norway do you have in the "club"?

We have 15 site members registered from Norway, but only 9 have confirmed that they own a C6
