Hi all, something to note (or worry about??)

Attached is a link to a recall issued for High Pressure Fuel Pumps for the same 2.7 Turbodiesel lump used in Landrovers and the C6. - Click Here -

Apparently the front bearing in the HP Injection pump has a habit of lunching itself which can result in poor performance, fuel leaks or worst case the vehicle catching on fire.

Anybody had a similar problem on their C6.

Separate issue, I have a slight smell of hot, melting plastic noticeable when parking the car. Can't figure out if is coming from under the bonnet or towards rear of the car.

Regards
G

Same engine is used in the Jags and I've not seen or heard any info from them.

Not in France or England, note!

I did not realise that they had different fuel pumps for different markets. Did you?

I'm not sure that Citroen do and it may be specific to Land Rover

I had that 'hot' smell sometimes after parking mine - never did discover what it was and now we'll never know unless someone puts it back on the road!
