Our son is studding in Sydney so we are going to visit him in Jul - Aug and at the same time we are planing to do an road trip through Australia.

Basically: Sydney - Melbourne - Adelaide - Alice Springs - Cairns and back to Sydney.

I know that it is going to be a lot of miles but we are used to drive 10000-13000 km round Europe so i think we manage and even have fun during the travel.

Does someone have some tip of things not to miss or must see ?

Flight ticket are already payed and ready, but we are now in the process of finding an rent car.

Some company have the stupid rule that an car rented in New south Whales can not be driven in Northern territory.

Does anyone know a good company with decent regulations to rent from?
