In looking to replace my front shocks I often see an item like this advertised, with part number 5271L6: - Click Here - It is reasonably priced and described as fitting both the C6 and the C5 III. Then I will find a much more expensive item, with part number 5271L8, like this: - Click Here - And it is never described as fitting the C5, only the C6. Does anyone know the difference between these two shocks? |

The lower priced shock doesn’t have variable damping (AMVAR), it will only fit 2.2HDi C6. The higher priced shock does have the AMVAR system fitted to all V6 engined C6. The shocks aren’t interchangeable, you'll need to buy the correct shock for your car. |

The only way to find out which spare part is actually suitable for your C6 is to use the chassis number (VIN) and call the Service Hotline. It is relatively simple for the shock absorber. There are C6s with and without AMVAR. See also the previous article by "Hattershaun". Greetings Wolfgang |
