C6 acquired at the weekend and it hasn't got any sound coming from the speakers at all. Apparently the battery went flat before I bought it and since it was jumped, there's been nothing. I thought it might be a blown fuse, but nope.

It's booked into an auto electrician for Friday but I thought I would ask on here anyway and see if anyone has any thoughts on what it could be. Hopefully it's not a blown amp...

the Amp would be preferable to the head unit!
My bet is on the head unit I'm afraid....

Uhoh. How much would a new head unit set me back...? Are they repairable?

Let see what the Autoelec says before we start hunting for solutions.

If it is a head unit, your best bet would be a replacement from a breaker. Not sure what the current market price is but a fleebay search might help provide some pointers.

Looking at around a hundred quid for a head unit. However, I understand the head unit is coded to the car - is it possible to get one from another car off eBay and get it working in my car, should it be needed?

Sorted. It wasn't the head unit. Or was bad wiring. It's had an aftermarket unit in at some point and they've done a bad job reinstalling the stock unit.

I wonder if this will also fix the broken heads up display... Either way, we have sound. Result.
