Hi everyone,

Had the EGR valves mapped out and performance map carried out. She's a 2009 2.7Hdi.

The test threw a code showing the actuator for the rear turbo has a mechanical fault which, over 3000 rpm, throws the code. Think it's P253? but anyway, it's the actuator.

I have to choose whether to order left or right actuator:

Firstly, is this the correct part and secondly, do I need left or right? As I say, the mapping service said it was the "rear turbo".

Any help gratefully received.

Thanks,

Stuart

Hi Stuart,
I believe you'll need the right actuator.

Think of the engine as in-line (as apposed to transverse) with the timing belts at the front. This would put the rear turbo on the RHS of the engine when viewed from the drivers seat (the normal point for determining the orientation).

Regards

That's great - thanks! I would have guessed at the left but your logic explains it is the right one I need.

Many thanks again,

Stuart
