Has anyone got a C6 petrol that they'd be willing to part with in the UK?

(I should have never have sold mine!)

Hi. I have a petrol C6 with 70k miles. Was thinking of selling in the summer once weather picks up and I can properly clean it. Having building work done currently so it's not too clean as the drive is dirty. PM me if interested and I will give my mobile number. I am in Harrow. Cheers

Would you be interested in ex Japan?
90% of their C6s are petrol, (Japanese normally shy away from diesel), they tend to be high spec, (they love their sun-roofs!), usually low miles and well looked after, (they would be expensive, imported cars).
RHD, of course. Unfortunately they do have bit of an inflated opinion of their value but I honestly don't know where they think they are going to sell old, petrol engine RHD C6s, so might take an offer. Especially if you have a couple!

Worth a look anyway but good luck.

I'm not completely against the idea but that will require much more research which I just don't have time for now. Actually its a pretty cool idea to get a nice C6! I've been to Japan a few times and their cars are immaculate, along with most ovther things.

But I basically want a sorted C6 in the short term. If I can't find a UK petrol one, I'll save up a bit more and think about this Japanese adventure! Thanks for planting the seed in my brain.

In other exciting news... have you seen that the R/H central air vent has climate control info in it on Japanese C6's?!

Yes, we have a few far Eastern C6s in New Zealand and they seem to all have this style fitting for the Climate Control.

This is a Singaporean C6 with the same fitting. We also have a few ex Singapore cars in New Zealand but the word on the street here is that it is a much more humid country than Japan, which could cause electrical gremlins.

Not sure if it is true but people generally are a little more wary of them.

Mission accomplished! C6 petrol/LPG inbound, no-MOT, God help me!

c/o Chevronics and deceased estate

I’m going to need a passenger door glass— are they all the same colour abs laminated in UK models? Can anyone on here supply one?

Also I’ll need a windscreen, which I understand may be a LHD one on a car of this age. Will wait and see if that’s true when I actually see it.

Hello Jamescarruthers,

Congratulations on achieving your search for the car you want.

On the windscreen, if your car is RHD I presume it'll be a RHD windscreen as it'll have the feature in the screen glass for the head up display on the correct side?

Best regards,

Phil C.

Hey Phil, thanks for the welcome back.

I read on here that the very first RHD C6s sent to the UK still had the rain sensors in the LHD position, and therefore need a LHD screen as the black “masking” is required to be the same as a LHD car.

I will wait until I actually see the car and report back if this quirk is true on this 2006 car.

It is C6 FED by the way.

Hi James

Many congrats (I hope) on your new acquisition.

My first & really only C6 thus far was one of the early press petrol cars (2005 pre release), see attached pic. I did buy that diesel a few years back, which was dressed up as a Tour de France support car, but had to scrap it ;-(. Are you just not a diesel fan, same here?

Had her for a year, bought for 8k, spent 6k, sold for 8k, so good & bad!

I don't think I have any special petrol issue advice I can pass on, except that I tried to get her remapped/ chipped for a little more BHP, but after some fiddling, we discovered that no software had been written to remap the petrol (2015). There is something you can plug into the OBD, but who knows if it's doing anything & the armrest won't close with it plugged in anyway . The earliest cars also don't take the later Citroen DAB upgrade kit, I tried.

I recommend changing the spheres, the drive seemed fine, but it was transformed after. Of course the 'sealed for life' ATF & water pump stuff is well known.

Nastiest thing that happened was when driving around London, minding my own business & she collapsed, LDS all over the road. She was collected & taken to my local Cit boys & we found one of the high pressure pipes had exploded; luckily they replaced it with a much higher pressure AC pipe for £250 I think. If that hadn't have worked, Citroen said about £2k, with full undercarriage drop! Don't think this was anything petrol though, just me driving too fast & throwing her round corners like I'm on Ronin .

Still after all that I do miss her, but I was rebuilding my CX Safari at the time & something had to give. I just hope you find someone that can deal with her, all those weird things to deal with, I've heard most garages haven't a clue how to deal with AMVAR issues, but heyo, isn't all classic Cit ownership like that.

Very, very good luck & give me a call if & when you let her go.

Best - Justin

I got my hands on C6 FED. I’ll start a proper thread in the right section. But after a quick look around and a drive to the MOT station I know I have a few things to deal with:
- MOT required

- windscreen and passenger front door glass need replaced

- slight wheel wobble at 70mph

- rear drivers side TPMS alerts flat tyre or unmonitored, but that’s not true

- headlight out (please don’t be the expensive ballast!)

- brake light out

- day running lamp out but it’s been modified with some Chinese LED bulb so not sure if that can be fixed or will need both replaced

- front parking sensors deactivated because they scream if anything comes near them, like a car when waiting at a junction!

- I’m sure more because it is a C6 but initial observations are good

Struggled to get pictures directly uploaded to the forum for some reason but posted old fashioned IMG links via Postimages.org. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

That doesn't sound too bad
You might struggle with a passenger door glass and I guess the screen will be an insurance job?
Give me a shout if you need a second hand headlight unit or ballast and I can probably do you a replacement TPMS sensor pre-coded to drop in if you have a Lexia to pull the code out of the ECU?

Oh, and when you've finished with the car, I'll take it off your hands
