Good Afternoon everyone When I put the steering wheel into a fairly hard left turn there is "squealing " noise from the engine compartment and a judder through the steering wheel. It only seems to happen when the car is cold i.e. first thing in the morning. Been told I need to top up the LDS fluid. The tensioner had seized but the mechanic freed it up and it stopped for a couple of days. Can anyone confirm that or have alternate suggestions please? |

By all means check the LDS fluid level first but I doubt it will be that. The power steering pump is working it's hardest when the LDS is cold and at full lock. The squealing sounds like a slipping aux drive belt which suggests the tensioner repair was a temporary fix. I would say you need a new tensioner and belt. Best of luck |
