Is there a light by the gear lever?

 In previous cars I have owned there has been a light by the gear lever so that it is easy to know where you are when you are moving it. My C6 doesn't have one. Is this the case with all of them, or is my light just not working?

 I didn't notice there was a light on mine - but the instrument panel has an indicator and the shifter is gated so I never had to guess which gear I was. (Same with C5).
Coming from owning mostly Japanese cars, which tend to have straight fwd-aft shifting pattern and push button to move from Parking to Reverse and Neutral to Reverse etc, laterally gated shift pattern is far more intuitive in my opinion.

 Dave,

No it doesn't have a light by the lever, nor do the buttons for the suspension light up.

 Mine too as well as the Sport/Snow mode transmission button.

 Isn't it connected to brightness control? like the ambient lighting around the door card and of course the centre display. maybe yours is set at very low level? I had the brightness dialled right down, and door card lights were barely noticeable even in dark.
