Happy New Year to all and thanks to all the admin team for keeping this great site up and running. My New Year started with taking a sharp intake of breath and booking the 2.7 exclusive for a timing belt and water pump change, pads and discs, full service and an MOT. I was quoted £1300 for the belt and water pump alone by the local dealers (who have now got wise and excluded the C6 from their fixed price service/repairs menu when it comes to timing belts.) Thankfully my trusted independent garage completed all including service and mot and discs for £975. Not the ideal first bill of 2019 but hopefully preventative in the main. As a point of interest the mileage was 120500 (10 1/2 years old) and the belt was well on the way out as was the water pump (sorry I didn't take photos but the side of the belt was starting to shred and the seals on the pump were knackered.) Just caught it in time!!!! Happy motoring. | ||
