Well, the honeymoon ends here.

I've been enjoying my low-mileage 2007 C6 2.7 since snow-time, but the suspension strut now needs replacing.

I've checked forum threads (mostly over four years old) to see best prices, and have made some calls/emails. Does anyone have up-to-date intel on where to source the parts at a good price? (I'm based in Ireland, but not afraid of shipping in.)

Alternatively, does anyone know of a suitable unit available secondhand (I'm noting advice re. corrosion on circlip and I've seen the scary photos!)

In the same week, I've done something silly to my rear suspension - see separate thread!

Thanks for help.

Welcome, nice to see another Irish C6 owner. I had my front passenger strut replaced in July 16 and got an independent Citroen garage in Johnstownbridge to do it, he got the shock for me through Citroen. Back then it was only 3 days from him ordering it to having it on my car. Not sure what it's like now though.

Thanks Keith - nice to emeet you too!

My mechanic was quoted €570 by Gowans to supply the part! I'm hoping for better than that.

Will post pic of damaged rear arm (other thread) after sun-up.

Thanks

I'm positive my strut was less then that. As in 300 and something.

Maybe without the dreaded VAT

PSA parts prices are always 'fluid' depending on stock and demand......

Different strut on the 2.2, expect to pay in the region of £420 for a new genuine one for a 2.7 hdi
