Hi Have anyone done some tests (other than on PDF "Engines / [ C6 engine guides, parts etc. ]C6 Turbo Boost Pressure Checks)? Is there a place to easily add air (boost) to system to hear hiss sound? The cars are getting quite old and every day its more likely that someplace is loose or cracked. On my other old turbo cars I have made adapters to intake to pass 1-2 bar air pressure to system (and found 5 loose clamps on the intercoolers hoses..) Do we make anything with the info "Maximum boost pressure: 1.6 bar"? |

Hi, good idea but any leak test using pressurised air is only as good as the isolations at the boundaries of the test. The upstream boundaries would need to be on the discharge of the turbochargers? Where would you isolate on the downstream limit of the leak test? regards |

Hi Not sure - thats why I need opinions. Easy place to start is the intercooler - just add 2 blanks and air.. I found cheap rubber blank (ment for house drainage pipes) useful on my other car (adding air was easy because many little nipples on car intake system for bleeld valves etc). I dont think there is too many on these turbo diesels. |
