Walked out to the C6 to see it on the rear stops and sitting in a pool of its own fluid. Local mechanic said that the main hydraulic supply pipe that runs over the fuel tank has corroded due to being in contact with the felt on the top of the tank and has a pin hole in it. Then mentioned that he wouldn't touch it. I'm familiar with this response to C6 ownership. I've tried to find a schematic of the hydraulic system to see what pipe he is referring to, and searched to see if anyone else has encountered the same problem, but can't seem to find anything. I'm located near Bicester, Oxfordshire, and would very much appreciate any guidance, a decent specialist and some hope. It's an extra car for indulging myself in 'big Citroens' and having spoken to the mechanic he's painting a terminal picture for the car. I hope that it's a over reaction on his part. Many thanks Ed |

Hi Ed, I think a lot of standard garages are afraid of the citroen C5s and C6s because of the hydraulics. But to be honest everything needs maintenance and everything eventually wears out. Others on the forum with good knowledge of suitable garages should be along soon to advise you further. Or you could give BL autos a ring and ask about the cost of a likely repair! I'm aware there very good and experts in C6s. | ||

Phoned BL Autos and they're taking it in next Thursday. I have to say that i'm so pleased with their practical can-do attitude. Only time will tell. |
