As others have suggested, it does make a vast difference removing the whole carrier assembly. I've had to undo the front downpipe at the turbo and even with the rad out but the others left in place it is all but impossible to fathom out what you're doing when it's the first time. After getting it all out, carried on to undo the main coolant hose assembly from the stub on the block (which duly cracked), after which I could actually see the target. Note the onset of rust on the upper bumper beam where the support brackets are welded on --- you can certainly see where the future problems will be. Mike. |
