I just phoned up my local dealer to ask the price of a set of mats for the car.

Nothing wrong with the ones i have, but they are only in the front and I just thought i'd by a set of spares as they are beige and bound to get grubby.

And the price was ....wait for it ....£585 inc vat and that was JUST FOR THE FRONT! the rears are no longer available. Citroen are clearly on another planet to me. BONKERS.

I have ordered an aftermarket set and will advise you how they are when they arrive.

Yep I remember asking about rear mat for mine (didn't come with one) and they said the rear mat alone was £400.

I got some aftermarket ones from eBay and they are OK but not really big enough for the sizeable area in the rear footwell. The original mat was one long one that went over the hump too, but I can't find an aftermarket one. Are your rear mats fitted or just a generic shape?

Cheers

I got the dealer to chuck in a set of the original mats- if I'd known the price I'd have got an extra £1000 off!

Btw, I've got 2 spare sets of DS mats, complete with the foam underlay. Offers(!!)

There is at least one aftermarket supplier of mats. Does anyone want to come in for the front and rear sets in the original colours? I have it in mind that 10 sets of each colour should produce a decent price- the Traction Owners Club once carried them (for the Light 15, natch)

I would definitely be interested in a cream rear mat!

It was one of my first disappointments with the car. I just assumed a car in this category would have them as standard (my previous three cars had), I was surprised they weren't present and asked the salesman to "throw a set into the deal". He refused, understandably enough, and showed me why on his price list.

Totally taking the p1ss.

I should have my new mats in a day or so. They were under £50 inc postage... lets see if they are as prestigious as they make them out to be.

Oh and #238 in Maidenhead what colour are your DS carpets? I don't need any but i may know a man who does. Also whilst my home address is Suffolk my company office is in Maidenhead (Shoppenhangers Rd) so if either you or #82 fancy meeting up over a quick pint sometime on a weekday evening....

Neal, one grey and the other (I think) sort of yellowy beige. They're in France at the moment, but I'm going at the end of the month.

Pint? Yes!

A Frensh Citroen dealer sells mats for the C6 for a lot more reasonable price (like 85 euros). Below the link. The part number for C6 mats is supposed to be 9464.L8 which you can type at the search box in the upper right corner.

They ship worldwide (I'm testing them now to get maintenance parts sent to Aruba, let's see how they perform).

Sorry, my fault, the part number is 9464.L8. And that translation... is not the best but can be understood.

Only black! At least they are available, and if they are in Brittany hopefully they'll cross the border to Normandy, too.

Whao - that's more like it. That's the sort of price I expected.

Thanks for the link.

Of course the problem for British owners is LHD

Hi all, if you want good quality carpet mats with a perfect fit, suggest a trip to a classic car interior trimmer will get what you want.

This is pretty standard work for them.
