Hi all, for some Lexia is a poor system (needs the key gen code, very clunky, prone to freezing and crashing etc).

Most diagnostics require several thousand pounds of investments or at the other end are just cheap code readers that only recognise one or two of the dozens of ECUs in the C6.

Maverick Technologies - Click Here -

now offer a Single Marque version of the DEC Superscan system called the Solo. There's a PSA specific version.

Price is affordable (less than £400 which for me is one botched dealer repair job) and you are now dealing with a fully supported and updated diagnostics tool.

There's a pdf on the Maverick site which lists all the ECUs within the C6 and coverage looks complete from what I can see for all C6 versions.

Regards
G

PS, and of course it also covers other Citroens and Peugeots.

Thanks for the tip ! I have a HongKong Lexia that I never get around to get working. This sounds interesting and much simpler. Looked on the list of functions, but is there something for the engine lectronics of the 3,0 (DTC20) engine and the RT5 unit, and the special battery/generator technology of the DTC20 engine ?

The function support pdf is 6MB so suggest you search the net and check your specific ECUs.

I have found RT4 (portion extract attached) and RT6 but no RT5?

SID201 is there for the 2.7HDi but I don't know the engine ECU designation for the 3.0HDi

You might find there is a battery management ECU for your 3.0 HDi or that might be in the alternator (do you have the ECU name?)

Regards
G

Go the the DEC website and search for Citroen - Peugeot / ASM-X 10.2.9 thats the software for PSA products latest version.

Hi Tjensen and other C6 3.0 HDi owners, the supported list of ECUs includes

CITROEN C6
ENGINE ELECTRONICS (PETROL/DIESEL)
BOSCH EDC17 CP11

which I'm pretty sure is the engine ECU.

Check out FAQs and Documents and then scan the pdf

Here is a listing for Citroen C5 with 3.0V6 Diesel. Same engine ECU as Rangerover with same engine. (Chance of C6 with 3.0V6 diesel having its own bespoke ECU is practically nil)

Here's a post from another uk citroen forum with positive feedback from a user/purchaser of a PSA Superscan Solo

Just thought I'd give you an update on the Superscan Solo I purchased recently. It covers both of our vehicles extremely well (2008 Belingo II 1.6 hdi and a 2009 407 2.0 hdi). You have to download the software but it installed very easily and I managed to connect the bluetooth to my laptop. This is definitely a professional tool as the amount of things it can do on both cars is incredible - full live data on all the ecu's, actuation tests on pretty much everything and lots of "special functions" which I've not needed yet but there are certainly lots to choose from. I've also found the built-in forum really helpful as most of the people on there are independent specialists who know what they are talking about. So far I'm more than happy and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to get in-depth diagnostic coverage for Peugeot and Citroen (they also do Solo's for Fiat, Ford, Land Rover and Renault).

Maybe contact that poster to find out more real life experience.

Regards
G

Hi Phil, thanks for your thanks. (I too have exceeded my 24 hour quota).

With better weather, shouldn't be a problem - lots of outdoor jobs to finish off so less time on computer.

I know this thread is a few months old but thought it would be worth relaying another set of experiences with the Superscan Solo. I have only had it for 3 days but used it quite a bit. Maverick operate a slightly cumbersome sales process where you buy the machine, then once it is delivered you have to phone them to register it and get access to the software. But they were very helpful.

The software is strictly licensed to an individual - initial purchase covers 1 years updates. After that the software continues to operate by you have to pay £100 or so to continue getting updates. Looking at the last update record on my version I can't see that updates would be necessary for the C6.

Once registered it was extremely easy to install - I used Windows 10 and it is compatible with Windows XP onwards. The unit connects to the laptop by bluetooth and connecting the laptop to an internet connection and the Superscan when first setting up meant a lot of the setup was automated.

It has done everything I have wanted so far - reading fault codes, monitoring engine EGR / air flow, de-pressurising suspension and so on. I have never used the Lexia / Diagbox so can't compare functions. One thing I have found extremely useful is the ability to monitor in 'live' mode multiple ECU on the same screen, and to record and take 'snapshots' of readings. These are easily saved / printed as required. There's a whole load of data I don't yet understand but am hoping it will make sense over time as I relate the car's behaviour to the readings I am getting.
Example output:

I have also started, tentatively, to play with the 'Special Features' - the ability to change settings and so on. Very conscious I could wreck things here, so seeking lots of assistance in this site and elsewhere first. The software supplier runs a 'Forum' as an integral part of the screens - you can easily link through to available information on each feature, and raise questions / see others' questions and responses. Sadly I have not yet found much C6 relevant content yet......

If there are other Superscan users out there perhaps we could swap notes?

Cheers
Nick

I too am looking at system to keep an eye on my recently purchased 2008 2.7 hdi. I was looking at this on ebay - Click Here - but now am not too sure what to get. What is the best system to get for my car? Is the link I have to the one on ebay a waste of money?

Any help appreciated!

Keith

Hi Keith, there's plenty of other posts on this forum regarding acquiring/using Chinese cloned Lexia/Diagbox software. This thread/post is about using licenced 3rd party software as a reliable alternative to the Chinese clones of PSAs software. Maybe your post belongs in another thread. Cheers G

I never bought the Superscan Solo, the car had no problems But now I am starting to get a little more nervous and tried to get one. Looks like both the Superscan and the Maverick Company is no longer there. Can anyone help with a source or an alternatve (not Lexia, to complicated setup and PC linkage etc)

Snap-On’s “Solus Ultra” is good, but it doesn’t access every function, as some are PSA-specific.

Thanks ! This one is very expensive, but I am checking out several alternatives. Hope to find a Superscan Solo PSA somewhere, many of the alteratives are US made and non PSA
