The aircon on my C6 has stopped blowing cold, initially this was just on the drivers side and now it is the blowing hot through all vents. This happens even if I turn the aircon off and just use fans so I suspected the mixer flaps. Here the rub, the Citroen garage currently have my dash out and have said the flaps are broken and are a non serviceable item and so the heater box needs replacing at c£1400. Has anyone had a similar issue, can heater flaps be obtained? Hope someone can help. Mark |

Flap motors can be replaced but you need more info as to why the actual 'flaps' have broken. Ask to have a look at the unit....... If you get a part number I can search on other vehicles to see if you can find a used unit from a 4007 etc....... |

Thanks Dave I did ask about the motors but garage said it is not the motors and the flaps are broken and there is there is not a service kit for them. Unfortunately I am working away from home so cannot take a look. How easy is it to take a look myself if the car dash is put back together? The part number is 6450SC, evaporator housing. The garage has flaps are just loose., the motors work but the flaps don't move. |

Done a part number search and it appears that particular item is unique to the C6 I'm afraid.

Thanks for checking. I have taken the advice of the garage and ordered the new part, gutting as it is, although the garage did agree to include a re-gas and a anti-bacterial clean. Based on past experience I have some trust in the garage.

Mine has done the same on just the driver's side (ATM!). The flap has just fallen apart and disappeared inside the heater gallery. I intend investigating; the entire fascia has to be removed..... |

Steve, any photos or sketch for the failed flaps. Is remanufacture, repair or fabricating a new flap an option? regards G |

in australia some people are 3D printing hard to get parts for their citroens, and turning out quality work, might be a lot cheaper option if you know someone with the know how. it is the way of the future when you copy a part instead of not being able to source one or so expensive to buy it is uneconomic. |

The saga is still ongoing. 3D printing seems the way to go. The dealer could not locate the part in the UK , it is no longer supplied, and found one in Spain, but it has taken two weeks for the money to get to the seller and the part to be shipped. Once I get the old one back I will be looking to recondition it to resell, so the next unfortunately owner does not have to wait and spend a small fortune on these parts. If I had know it was going to be this long at the start I would have gone to an aircon specialist to make something.

Hi. As my driver's side heater flap has also just fallen apart and disappeared inside the heater gallery and I can't seem to find one anywhere, is there any further information on an alternative or a 3D printing option? I'm also told it's about a ten hour job to get to the heater, fix it then replace everything! |

As said above, the report is that one heater flap has broken & fallen into the heater box. Can someone explain what that means (I've never even see a heater box) and what do I need to get / where could I find what I need. Thanks in anticipation, Jim |

Jim check out the archives but I posted some months ago about heater repairs (in that case it turned out to be a waterside problem) with links to sellers of the Citroen C5 and Peugeot 407 heater flap repair kit. The main issue is finding someone with the expertise to cut a hole in the heater casing to effect the repair and then plastic weld good afterwoods. If you can't find the thread, let us know. thanks G |
