Changed out my failed coolant outlet housing today and decided to drain and fill the cooling system since lately a lot of water was added in stead of coolant (performed a temporary fix on old coolant outlet housing but it kept weeping a little). The manual explains you need to open the radiator drain plug and the engine block drain plug. The later I was unable to locate, the image make me suspect it's near the front EGR valve, behind the alternator but I there is no way to reach there without removing a lot of other stuff. Anybody has drained the engine block coolant successfully and can tell me where this plug is? | ||

Hi Travlician, like you I have never managed to locate the engine block drain valve. I would probably disconnect a hose from the union below the air filter housing (remove the lower part of the air filter housing). Don't loose the spring clip. Regards G |
