Hi As you may have noticed we just took delivery of our 2007 C6 exclusive. Its has an RT4 and software is at 7.x so an upgrade is in order, I am assuming the maps are seriously out of date to. Any way I am hoping to find a bluetooth unit that can integrate with the head unit along the lines of USBBox (maybe a variant of the USBBox that can do audio streaming.), Can anyone make any specific recommendations in this area ? Also I note in the glovebox there is mounted video and audio RCA plugs . Is this normal ? Thanks Tim |

From everything I have read so far only RT5 have bluetooth. The same software works on the RT4 but it doesn't have the hardware. Though I could be completely wrong on this, only having had the car for a day and reading about C6's on this site for a few weeks. My owners manual that came with the car also doesn't mention bluetooth anywhere. So I am hoping someone with more experience can point me in the right direction  Cheers Tim |

Built in bluetooth is only on RT5 on cars with Navidrive. Bluetooth was available as an option on non-Navidrive models. The RCA sockets in the glovebox are standard on the Exclusive you can play an audio player and/or video player through the aux. input (which needs to be enabled on the menu). The video screen only works when stationary or at very low speeds. | ||

OK I'm in the same boat but slightly further down the road with the research. 1. RT4 does not have the Bluetooth hardware. I have the 4 2. RT4 and RT5 use the same firmware. I was going to say if you're coming to the Southern C6 meet I'll bring the disk I burnt but you're a bit too far South  A citroen dealer can order an official disk but I'll try to find the link so you can make your own as I did.3. Citroen sell/sold Parrot car kits as a dealer fitted option and I'm looking at getting one of those fitted. As far as I can tell the RT5 Bluetooth does not support the A2DP Bluetooth profile you need to stream audio. That's the magic word you need need to look for on an After-market kit. What isn't clear is how smart the integration is on any given. If playing music A2DP music mutes the radio - as you'd expect a phone call to do - then traffic announcments won't be able to interupt your music, the older parrot system I had in my previous car muted the CD during a phone call - it didn't pause it. 4. I have bought the USB cable from an e-bay seller in France. I suspect I'm going to be better off transfering music onto the jukebox (but I draw the line at burning a stack of CDs of MP3 files just to do the transfer). So I'm hoping that (a) I will be able to transfer music to the jukebox from USB and (b) I'll be able to play podcasts from the USB without transfering. I'm expecting this will need the MiraScript tools I'm hoping to get BT fitted next week so watch this space. |

Hi James What you have said here pretty much matches what I managed to find last night. I would like a solution that supports A2DP. (Our phones have or can fit all our music on them You mentioned the Parrot and it seems the Parrot MKi9000 (and 9100, 9200) will in theory all work with the RT4. In fact they seem to be the only devices that specifically list C6/RT4 as supported. I checked with Dension and XCarLink and their products only support the RD4. Dension suggested I get an FM solution My wifes Nokia N8 and my N900 both have FM transmitters already (Unfortunately my N9 doesn't ;-(.So it looks like the Parrot MKi9000 will be the way to go. We don't need the display provided by the 9100 and 9200. Cheers Tim |

It's the MKi9000 I'm looking at - I actively want to avoid the display. In my case I can fit all the music that's on my computer onto my phone, or a decent USB stick. If I can control it through the radio controls and have it play nice with traffic announcments etc so much the better - bluetooth A2DP seems to have pause, resume ff/Rew but not "launch music" so you have to muck about with the phone while driving, though less than you would with a cable to the socket in the glove box (there's an option burried in the menu to turn aux input on, and you can select video in when stationary). The problem I have with FM transmitters is that they work well provided you don't drive any great distance. In the 40 miles between home and my old office, every possible frequency suffered interferance somewhere. There was so much re-tuning I gave the FM unit to my wife - her journeys are much more local. |

Hi, I just bought a beautiful second hand C6 2.7 hdi exclusive, but with RT4. I successfully updated the firmware to 8.2 and will be upgrading maps e.o. I will probably also follow the easy USB connection cable (will have to find out where to get the right plug though). I am also looking for a smooth bluetooth hands free, and reading these posts it smees the Parrot MKi9000 can do the job. However, I would preferably not like to have additional buttons and interfaces attached in the cockpit... I there a solution I can built away behind the dash and which can be operated through original dash buttons & steering wheel? | ||

I guess I can get it at a Citroen dealer. Do you know if the RT5 is easily interchangable with the RT4 infra? Is it just a matter of changing the unit or are there any other changes necessary like wiring? Any idea what a RT5 unit would cost? | ||

Hi The RT5 is a direct replacement to the RT4, no need to modify anything. Is your RT4 silver or black? I do have an RT5 for sale, if you are interested, please send a PM Thanks |
