Welcome to C6owners

 07 October 2009 | C6Dave

Citroen C6 Owners - The site dedicated to supporting those who already own, or are thinking of buying, a Citroen C6.

By it's nature, the car is fairly exclusive as it is built in limited numbers in the same factory in Rennes where Citroen built the XM (there appeared to be only around 100 registered for use on the road in the UK when I wrote this but subsequent enquiries mean it could be more, but still less than 1,000), competes in a tough sector of the market for sales amongst the 'Badge Conscious' car buying public.

Used, it offers a luxury car and all that comes with that, at family car prices and has a lot of Citroen's 90 years of technical innovation incorporated.

User Registration is required to post or download from the site (top right of this page) and content is being added on a regular basis including quick facts and a technical document archive. Some parts of the site though are and will, remain restricted to a 'Private Member' class, admission to which, is at the Site Administrator's discretion.

Vat going up to 20% in January 2011

 22 December 2010 | C6Dave

The forecast rise in VAT last year is happening although no doubt car manufacturers will delay implementing it via 'special offers.

However it will mean higher fuel and servicing costs for anyone running a car and will impact on already rising Insurance Premiums.

Happy 2011 everyone

Thinking about buying a new car, then should you act now or wait?

 22 November 2009 | C6Dave

Midnight 31st December 2009 - VAT goes back to 17.5% plus there is a possibility it will be raised to 20% next year because of the state of public finances

28th February 2010 - Car Scrappage scheme ends (possibly sooner if the funds run out)

April 1st 2010 - First year registration tax charges apply on all new cars (no it's not an April fool joke)

The effects mean though that 'Low Polluting' cars in bands A-D will pay no tax in year 1 but some taxes are doubled. Owners of 'Top Polluting' cars will pay £950 for the first years Road Fund Licence which includes the C6 2.7 HDi - gulps..............
