So after a few failed attempts i finally got my new RT4 fitted today under warranty. Started the car, tried to adjust the climate control... nothing on the screen. No climate display at all.. Dark setting doesn't work, cant see if it has the latest maps installed and for some reason this one has no circular chrome bezzle around the switches in the middle. Left the car with them... Only upside I drove a C5 Exclusive.... very quiet, much less road noise, i guess its the tyres which are a higher profile 55 section and narrower too. Not a beautiful car like the C6 though..... Argh, got that off my chest !

Because I had seen so many problems reported with the system over at C4owners, it's one of the reasons I went for a Lignage and kept my TomTom

You have my sympathy guys and good luck getting them working.

Got the car back and its all fitted. It seems to work. BUT now when it boots up it says Magnetti Marelli instead of our beloved chevrons on the screen. Cosmetic I know but it looks kind of shabby... It has no chrome bezzle, again cosmetic but flippin annoying. The dealer cannot display the software release, and are told by Citroen not to change anything with the unit, leave it as it is. I have updated the UK maps as they said i could do this and it went all ok, but the speed camera disc is not loading, I need to check i am doing that right though as i just put the CD in and it does nothing.

Neal, I had the same thing with the display when my replacement unit was fitted. I took it back and the dealer rectified it. Given what you say about Citroen's recommendation, I'm now wondering if this is why it's just lost contact with the GPS satellites.

Hi Neal

Regarding boot screen showing "magneti Marelli", Citroen should sort that out, reprogram the VIN and the unit should show "Citroen" on boot screen

With the chrome bezel in the middle, usually the black units do have chrome

And with speed cameras, you need to update the firmware first, as these won't work unless you have 8.11 and up.
But i wonder why Citroen told you not to update it, they should do it for you.

Regards

Its in to the dealer Thursday... They need it for two days while they update the sw and test it. The unit is black but has no chrome bezzle in the middle.

On a serious note I'm sure all this sitting around on tick over for hours and hours day after day (what with all the visits) while things are changed and software updated is doing my particulate filter the world of good.

On a pleasant note now.. i met three customers today in a car-park prior to a meeting and they all drooled over the C6. One has a Porsche, one an Audi A6 3.0d and the other an A4.
