Hi there, I am sure someone who has owned a C6 longer than me knows the answers to these questions...

How do i find out what software release my NaviDrive is running?
Where do you get the updates from? Can they be down loaded or must they be purchased on CD?
Is it recommended to update the software to the latest release to fix known bugs and does this normally go smoothly?
In addition it would be cool to have a rather more up to date set of maps. Where do you get updates for mapping from?

Many Thanks

Neal

Hi
To know the software version of your navidrive you need to:
Press and Hold Menu, then look for "unit description".
Yes it is recommended to update to the latest software and if you do it carefully it should go smoothly.

Hi Neal!

I recently did an upgrade on my 2007 RT4 system. Bought the complete package of 13 cds for the entire Europe, as they don`t offer a map update exclusively for Scandinavia. Too bad really, but again, we`re an exclusive group of people driving C6 up here.
Installation went without problems, though the engine must be kept running, to avoid the economy mode. Which meant the entire evening, driving around with the car. A much more preferred way compared to keep it running outside my house.

Guys,

thanks for your responses... so I did the checks and got a whole list of stuff back... can you explain

against the display where it said SW Version_unit by pressing the ok i got the following;

- 8.11.A-4
- CD3239
- sw version 11/03/09
- BR:10
- CD_FW:UEJ2
- FP 11.04.06
- GSM 5.43
- RD:671A40
- 9d 8h6

Any idea what that all means?

I assume my maps are out of date, so If I order the current maps for the UK and speed cameras (thanks for the link) does this remove the maps for Europe that are already installed?

This is the system software version and it means version 8.11. There is newer one for RT4 available, version 8.20.

If you order it in euros it's about 13% cheaper, by the way. The thread by ingolf has euros as well as £.

Hi,
Regarding 8.20, you order it from Citroen dealer, the part reference is 1606858680 and costs £33.08

Regarding the maps:

if you want to know the version:

Go to Menu, Maps, Map data base description, you will get the list and versions of maps installed

The latest maps for Europe available are version 2010-11 and the latest speed cameras version available is August 2011

Best regards

I've just tried this in my 2007 car and I did not find any such options. Was there another way on the earlier cars ?

Cheers - looks like you can only get that info with the ignition on and the engine off, on my previous attempts I had the engine running.

Hi
It does not matter if the engine is on or off, this method works anyway
On your previous attempts you did not select the right option

Nope did the same thing as before, but this time I had not started the engine. This was what confused me.
