Oh dear. Here we go again. Soon after having the replacement RT it decided to lose contact with the GPS satellites. Mildly amusing at times when I checked to see if it had sorted itself out only to find the display showing me in the middle of the Bristol Channel. Anyway, the dealer fitted a new aerial but no luck with that. The problem has now been identified. The new unit is fecked and will be replaced. So we all of my cd's that I've spent weeks burning to the hard drive. [%*^#@!]!

Very strange that a new unit becomes faulty after 1 month ! |

well, she's back, still with the last rpalcement RT unit. Apparently, there was an earthing fault. I wonder how long this will last.

Sorry but no, and I didn't think to ask. I'll give them a ring to find out. |

I would have definitely asked, otherwise they feel like they can say whatever they want! Not being technically minded they could say anything and I would believe it. Anyway, I just rang and the service bloke said that it was a short-circuit / earthing fault with the RT unit preventing it recognising the aerial. Does that make sense? |
