maps.google will do it for you too. Here is a little townhouse in London.

The problem with that is the Sat Nav will not take GPS coordinates in decimal format. It would need to be converted into degrees, minutes and seconds.

Tried the Lat/Long yesterday, it's effective, but you do have to find the lat/long, then translate it into deg/min/sec. Plus it couldn't find where I wanted to go accurately enough.

The site I posted has the deg/min/sec for you at the bottom. If you can't find where you want to go using Google Maps where you can zoom into the exact window of the house you're trying to find then I don't know if any Satnav could help much ped |

Ah, no. Google maps could find the place fine enough, and give it to a ridiculous accuracy, but unfortunately, I had to round the numbers as the satnav doesn't resolve to anything smaller than 1 second.

I see. I have found rounding the numbers is still v accurate. Good luck out there folks!

Motion X is a very useful app, but is there any way of getting it to display the long/lat coordinates bigger on the screen once you have searched for a post code? Its way too small and i can't read it! I know, where glasses is the obvious answer but i am long sighted so don't use glasses while driving.

Yes. When you've hit search in MotionX, and the destination appears on the map, there are three buttons at the top of the screen: Cancel, Save, or Start. Press Save to save the location as a waypoint. Then a menu pops up, and you can choose to edit the waypoint, at which time the coordinates show up in big numbers. You can also view and edit waypoints from the main menu. Steve. |

Dave Mc wrote ... Hi Ped, Using Motion X as long as you have selected to show the co-ord in DMS in the settings screen, then when you search for an address you can read the long/lat co-ords from the map. It really makes entering destinations a lot faster than waiting for the satnav to find the address on the CD. Regards, Dave Hi Dave Just put motionX on new phone and have taken the above step but still unsure how to get it to display the data I need. I put in a postcode and it finds the address but the lat/long it shows doesn't change, I'm pretty sure it's showing MY location. Cheers |

You can even calculate coordinates from OS maps.
