2.2 or 2.7/3.0 HDi?

I did find this - Click Here - but you need to check the part number and car model

This one says it is for a 2.2 - Click Here -

Sadly, when you go to select which side, both are out of stock. I do not believe that there are any new in stock, anywhere (worldwide). Secondhand ones are almost impossible to find and many will be partway through their life so only a temporary fix (if you can find one).

As others have said, no longer available new. Used if you can find them (I have two sets but I'm keep those for myself ).

Refurbished are available from Poland via Tomek Novak on facebook - Click Here - His warranty conditions are a little onerous for only three months but you can always take the risk of not complying and hope for the best. I haven't tried one yet and can't vouch for the quality but we can't be choosy at this point.

Here's hoping Citroen see sense and commision the OEM to make a batch soon.

I’m on the lookout for AMVAR struts too. Is there any mileage on trying via CCC and other national Citroën clubs to try and convince Citroën to get a batch made?

I know that Chevronics wrote directly to Citroen and CCC last year, they posted about this on their Fcebook page, but nothing has followed yet, probably didn't get any answers.

I'm getting worried -- I don't need front struts now, but my C6 (2.7HDi) is close to the mileage at which both struts needed replacing on my C5X7, around 95000. (You could get new ones from Citroen then.)

Is there an option to use non-AMVAR struts on a 2.7HDi C6? Can you use Lexia to tell the suspension computer that it does not have AMVAR? Are C6 2.2HDi non-AMVAR struts the same as C5 ones?

To the best of my knowledge, 2.2 struts are the same as C5 X7 ones.

I would investigate Polish remanufacture before thinking about how possible it is to fit non-AMVAR struts to a 2.7 - there would be a lot to change, including the spheres. I do wonder how much is specific to AMVAR struts and how possible it is to take a new non-AMVAR strut and fit the old AMVAR gubbins to it.

Thanks; I didn't realise you need different sphere pressures too, although that makes sense.

Are new C5X7 / C6 2.2 struts still available? (Re your suggestion of investigating moving the AMVAR gubbins onto a new strut.)

Polish reconditioning does sound like the best bet, even if it needs re-doing every couple of years.

Re: spheres, I presume they are different as 2.2 spheres have damper valves in them.

I fitted a new strut to my 2.2 a couple of months ago. Was easy enough to find one. There are also aftermarket ones, no idea if they are any good - £100 or so each.
