Bonjour all,

Two of my exterior door handles feel & make a k'dok on release. Opening the driver's door, by comparison, is beautifully smooth.

The claws in the offending doors look healthy and work smoothly. I therefore think that the striker plate with U-loop needs to shifted a mm outward.

I placed masking tape for realignment & loosened the two big screws but plate won't budge. I don't know why. I hesitate to call on the hammer for assistance

I wondered what this little thing / hole shown in the pic was; perhaps I needed to do something else. Would any of you know, please?
