The C6 master cylinder reservoir has ATE on the reservoir: so I will use ATE Brake Fluid when I flush / renew the brake fluid. Which type of ATE brake fluid is CORRECT for the C6 ? ATE SL (Dot4) or ATE SL.6 (DOT 4) ? The factory download says to disconnect the battery : Why would it be necessary to disconnect the battery ? |

ATE SL will be adequate for the operating temperatures you will be running the car in. SL.6 has a lower viscosity which will help in cold climates. As SL.6 has a lower viscosity it is also recommended for ABS, ESP & ASR equipped vehicles like the C6 but my interpretation of the specification is that only becomes a factor at low temperature. If you can get SL.6 at an acceptable price, go for it. If not, then SL Dot 4 will be an adequate alternative for you. |
