Hello, My C6 DW12BTED4 automatic does not like long motorway journeys. When I accelerate a bit suddenly, this triggers either limp mode or shuts the engine off outright. This also throws P1113, P0087, P0093 codes. After a bit of research, it looks like the first thing to check is the fuel filter, which might be clogged or filled with water. Does anyone know if and how it can be purged and whether the water sensor is connected on the C6 ? Thanks |

The filter on a 2.2HDI is a considered a consumable item and, if it's suspect, simply replace it unless you know it's be replaced recently. There is a water in fuel sensor located on the bottom of the filter and it looks like you'll need to remove the filter to get at it. There's also a bleed valve on the bottom to drain the filter but getting to it doesn't appear to be a simple task with all the metal protection plates around the filter. |

Hi, I've ordered one because it has never been changed, but I would have liked to check for water to see whether my problems come from there. The thick crash protection is pretty easy to remove, but I couldn't determine how this works nor find documentation for this particular filter (Purflux FCS604). There's an oblique connector at the bottom which looks like a pressure sensor and a dummy connector. Can't see a knob to turn to bleed water out. ![]() |

That sensor is the water in fuel sensor. I don't think you have that kind of problem. If you did have water in there you would get a P2265 error reported by the ECU. I have a spare filter in the garage that I'll check on Monday to see how the valve opens. |

Maybe it's that knob with a hex socket on top as it matches the "spigot" on the bottom. If so, no idea how to use it.![]() |

That knob with 5mm hex on top is the purge screw. It goes through to the bottom of the filter. There was no water. The C6 2.2hdi filter is equipped with water sensor at the bottom and fuel temperature sensor on top. It has an integrated temperature-controlled diverter valve which controls fuel recirculation in order to warm it up. When fuel is warm, it is returned to the tank via a fuel cooler under the car. |
