Hello C6 owners,

i'm the new and seventh owner of a C6 2.7L HDi.
I bought the car from a shady guy who told me he had done a lot of maintenance on it. But on my very first drive home, a lot went wrong.
I'm still trying to track down all the problems and repair them. The non-working seat heating and the faulty seat occupancy sensor will surely be a "fun" part.

Right now I'm working on the engine. My girlfriend brought my attention, while working on the cooling while engine running, to a rhythmic hissing sound. At first I thought the problem was at the vacuum pump, on the line for the brake system. I've already ordered the new line, which is widely available.
But today I found out that it is actually coming from the line directly next to it. I searched the forum and the web for a routing diagram from the vacuum pump or anyone who had asked the same. As far as i belive, its the connected tube which leads to the solenoid, with the vent and the line, which splits, and goes to the two swirl valves. The vent was also broken and now repaired with a filter from a VW T4. So ive wondered where the problem was. Ive turned the tube and found a branch with another piece of tube. If closed with the finger, the hissing goes away and sucks on my finger. It seems that it had connected somewhere but ripped and went of. Does someone know or can look where this piece belongs? Im very interested what it does, and am concerned due to the low vacuum in my vacuum system.

Hope my explanation isn't too confusing. I added some pictures.
Thank you all.
Greetings
Christian

Hi, sorry for the late reply..

A quick look at one of mine and that pipe runs down the back of the engine to the vacuum tank fitted on the front engine cradle below the air filter. I believe it provides the vacuum to the front and rear engine torque mounts

check out this picture which may help..
