Front left suspension shock absorber (5271 L7) AMVAR coil defect.

Hi folks, I’m new here, but not new with my 2011 C6 3.0 HDI.

In August 2023, when checking for the bi-annual approval ( German Hauptuntersuchung which is similar to UK-MOT) the left front strut was found leaking at 265.000 km.
I already replaced the right side years earlier with 195.000 km.

I then purchased the left side in 2023 with 550 Euros.
Now, after suspension was quite firm in general I replaced all 7 spheres, with the result of remaining problems at front left (Lexia).
The coil seemed to be disconnected. When checking the resistance (Ohm), it was clear that there was a fault.
I purchased a new shock (this time at 830 Euros) and all is well again.
I now wonder whether or not there is a chance to repair the coil of the previous shock absorber.

This shock absorber only did 17.500 km and could serve as a future spare if repair is possible.

Can anyone advise?

Thanks

I have not heard anyone repairing them yet. But don't throw it away, I'm pretty certain that someone will figure it out and start doing it in the future.
