Bit of a strange one here. When returning from a day trip yesterday, the car went into something similar to Limp Mode - but without the warning message. The car had been fine all day and on the way home, I had been using the cruise control and also occasionally winding the car up to over 90mph when I had the chance, just to stretch its legs. It was when I was in slow-moving traffic, just after switching off the cruise control, that I noticed the loss of acceleration. I stopped before making it home and when I re-started the engine it ran without this fault all the way home. This morning, the fault came back but I continued to drive for about half an hour. I stopped for a while and when I re-started, the fault was gone. I stopped again and on restarting the fault was back. On the final run home, the fault did not show itself until I was in slow-moving traffic where motorways merge.I stopped briefly before home and when I restarted the fault was gone again. With the fault present, when I step on the accelerator, the revs rise, it may also kickdown but the motion doesn’t match and there is a very very slow gaining of speed. There are no warning lights or messages showing up but it must be said that I’ve been living with a faulty front EGR for a while now and the engine light is always on - not sure if this has anything to do with my current problem. I’ve also noticed that, when the fault is present, it’s not possible to set either the speed limiter or cruise control. The readout comes up on the display but the “set +/-“ buttons do nothing. Otherwise the car is driving extremely well. If anyone has any ideas on what might be happening I’d love to hear them, thanks. Michael |

[%*^#@!] hell, you can't catch a break with that car! I'll need to have a look at the error log but that sounds like a turbo actuator fault. |

Every time it seems to be back on form, she throws a tantrum! There's nothing showing on the faults log screen. I'll send you an email. |

As an aside, the cruise/limiter function won’t engage when there’s an engine fault present, hence the flashing - - - instead of a cruise control speed.

Thanks Hattershaun, that makes sense and AndreSMCXXMC6, the diesel filter will be getting changed next week. The fault seems to be permanent now and it may be something to do with a small coolant leak that I also have, coming from around the thermostat area. Not sure if they're associated but I hope to know more very soon.
