How to enter the C6 car with dead battery? |

Hi guys, I have 2.7 HDI exclusive with electric rear seats and while waiting for mechanic to do some serious maintenance which includes removing the engine from the car, the battery went dead. Now I have locked vehicle sitting low on street with no possibility to unlock the doors. Bonnet and hood are closed also. When I put the key in the drivers door, and try unlock without using remote, nothing happens e.g. window doesn't slide down a bit to enable door opening. Crashing the window glass is one option, forcing bonnet lock another, but I'd love to have some other option available that doesn't destroy the car. Please help! |

The handbook does warn about lowering all the windows before disconnecting the battery. Not that this is much help if you encounter a flat battery & your car is parked in a tight garage space. If you can open a door then the bonnet, you can attach jump leads or a charger to the engine bay points(C) in the diagram |

The Window won't slide down is the battery is dead but the lock should open and allow you to open the door. As above... do not try and close the door again until power is restored and you can move the window down. If you door won't open then you need to find a way to reach the bonnet release either through the front bumper with a very long screw driver or removing the undertray and front ducting to allow you to reach up from below. It will be a struggle... good luck |

I had a broken release cable and did manage to open the bonnet from outside. If I remember correctly, I used a long thing and light to move the mechanism to the left (my left). But you should also (as the say above) be able to open the door without breaking the glass. | ||

You live in Norway, I don't want to believe that you have never opened your drivers door in the winter when the window has frozen solid with the door. It is possible to open the door when the window doesn't drop, I've done this hundreds of times, but I wouldn't dare to close it with window fully up tho. |

You could remove a side indicator lamp from the front wing (gently prize with a flat bladed instrument & cloth to protect paint), then apply power to the electrical connector, should then allow the remote control to unlock doors. | ||
