The part number 4014 LK in the steering is a problem. It starts to leak. I had my changed in 2017 (130 000km) and now it is leaking again (260 000), The part is no longer available. Tried many sources even paid in advance to a source in Latvia that only went totally silent. What can I do ? The part for the 2.7 is 4014 HV. Can it be used ? Or should i give up and try to get the garage to take it out and deliver to an independent specialist for repar/reconstruction ? (Now it leaks more than 1 liter for 500 km)

A Google search did find this - Click Here - @ US$638 it's not cheap, and they reckon 21-26 days to supply A repair might be quicker and more cost-effective, depending on where it's leaking from? |

Thanks !! I will try to follow that trail. (Is it a serious company, or another dead end for pre-payment ?)

Update: The Asian price and internet page look just like the one from Latvia that took the money and not delivered. Will wait with this. But have asked my garage (that made the double bypass operation in the cooling system replacing the rusty tubes with hoses) to take out the old part and getting it repaired by a specialist and putting it back. Now I am using 1-2 liter LDS per 500 km. (And in Norway the price for LDS have recently almost doubled !)

I always get it repaired. I'm taking it off from the car and give to a hydraulic specialist in Sweden called Hydroscand, and they cut off the bad part and replace it with hose instead. Have worked fine with appr. 15 cars I've done it on so far. |
