After several years of being Citroën free, I've taken the plunge and bought another. Sorry, but it's not a C6, but a 1972 DS20. A fully restored (well, very close, but I have found a couple of things that could be improved) and has covered under 5,000 miles since the total rebuild....

It's a South African built and spec car that the previous owner brought with him back in 2017 when he re located to the UK. The folder of bills for the parts that were used alone is quite frightening and confirms that you can't restore a classic these days and ever hope to recover the costs, as ably confirmed by 'Bangers and Cash Restoring Classic Cars' team.

Took a chance and did what one shouldn't and bid 'blind' at auction. CC Club told the seller to have a much higher reserve, Car and Classic said keep it lower and watch bids come in, but they didn't, and I was surprised when I got it at reserve.

The file of bills for parts is frightening, Shaun, but I know what it's like after the last DS I had and the Traction (for which prices seem to be dropping fast).

The 'hydraulics' bill is extensive, with some of the parts coming from Citro-tech in the Netherlands, but is an exceptional job as the car sits for hours and doesn't sink. The picture I took this morning below is 19 hours after I turned the engine off!
