I am using DIAGBOX v7.57 to try to check the level of the DEF fluid .
I have a DEPOLLUTION SYSTEM FAUTY alert with the orange check engine light on the right of the digital display showing up when the alert was displayed.

When I check for faults, I have been unable to figure out in the DIAGBOX where that fault is shown.
It does not show up in the GLOBAL TEST that I can see.

When I go into the maintenance screen DEF fluid check, DIAGBOX says that it is not possible to read the fluid level on vehicles before 2009.
My C6 is 2006 2.7L HDI.

Also DIAGBOX does not list the 2.7L HDI, only the 3.0 and 2.2 .Why is this?
DO I have wrong version of DIAGBOX for my 2006 C6 2.7L HDI?

Is there a work around for this?

If I entered a RPO from 2009, would it be able to read fluid level.

My questions are
1. how to check the DEF fluid level
2. how to turn check engine light off

Thank you for any information

Hello,
Diagbox should suggest your car VIN number when selecting C6. After answering Yes your car is recognized by the program and you can proceed to the Global test. So does the Diagbox suggest any VIN number ?

Hello Citroenroen1,

Normally when the DPF fluid is due to be replenished a specific message will appear on the central screen stating this accompanied by the SERVICE lamp on the dash. It doesn't alert depollution system faulty. The system doesn't have a fluid level sensor but uses a counter for each fueling to estimate consumption.

As regards depollution system faulty, if there are faults these will be logged in the injection ecu menu on global test.

Best regards,

Phil C.

Post some screenshots of the global test showing the units with errors. Include all the window info.

It won't! What will show is the cause behind the generic message. As Phil says, look at the errors for the injection ECU. Single mouse click on this should expand to a list of error codes. Double click will take you into the Injection menu where you select read error codes.

How many miles/km has the car done? As a general rule the DPF fluid will need topping up between 110-130k miles depending on the average consumption. For example, mine was 120k miles and I know of someone who had the message to fill at 112k
